Pompey have already signed David Nugent and John Utaka to bolster their strike force for next season, yet Harry Redknapp is keen to make the competition for places even tougher by adding another forward to his squad.

“We still feel that if we can find the right player we’d bring them in,” he told Sky Sports. “If we don’t then we’ll crack on with what we’ve got. We’ve bought some good players this summer.”
